Kolkata and Masala Chai

Masala Chai, a beverage brewed out of milk, sugar, tea leaves, ginger and other Indian spices is what the Google would say. This Indian sweet and spicy beverage is something about which even the Wikipedia would fail to describe its worth.

Would you not agree that Tea is an important drink with a strong irresistible aroma keeps Kolkata going? Masala Chai is not merely a flavored tea but a strong addiction in the lives of the Calcuttans with any standard of living. Mornings need a kick start to the day and that people mostly begin with ‘Subah ki chai’.

Kolkata streets have a trend of selling Masala Chai in little clay cups or commonly known as ‘sikora or bhaar’ by the locals. Kolkata is said to be the tea capital of India since the British times and they are certainly the best selling tea stalls in India.

Or I say chai instead of blood flows in Calcuttan’s vains. Ask your colleagues for tea and they will be happy to join you at the stall in the lane.
Frequent Chai breaks are a must for people working at any post and in offices and public places. You will find students, office worker and everyone else with a cup of masala chai in Kolkata streets.
The muddy brown shaded drink often acts as a magic potion and a sip of it makes the mind recharged and everything seems to fall on track. Tea, Chai or Cha has been privileged at bigger outlets and are being sold under labelled names, thus is gaining more popularity! People are biased in their opinions.
After all, You will find Masala Chai in Kolkata beyond brands and outlets.

HAPPY CHAI KOLKATA….
